But when that moment finally came, it surprised us all, because instead of relief, what we felt was sadness for the death he faced. </p><p>Maybe that pang stems from witnessing his change of heart in the days leading up to his demise in &quot;<a href="http://batangquiapo.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>FPJ&#x27;s Batang Quiapo</u></strong></a>,&quot; starting when he defied Miguelito’s (Jake Cuenca) order to gun down Tanggol (Coco Martin), because no matter how complicated their relationship was, he couldn’t bring himself to kill his own brother. He said that while they don&#x27;t share the same father, they&#x27;re still bound by blood through their mom, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache). For David, that connection still meant something, so he stood his ground refusing to carry out Miguelito’s command, and instead tried to find a way to save Tanggol from the danger looming ahead.  </p><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABa5h4fTo205aYVh"></script></div><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABbB5Sstyejxk--8"></script></div><p>Amidst the chaos and crossfire that broke out during Tanggol and Miguelito’s campaign motorcades, David showed up for his brother and insisted on staying even when Tanggol begged him to leave so he wouldn’t get caught in the shootout. He had made up his mind that if Tanggol was going down, then he would go down with him. </p><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABbFt5sus87w8HTF"></script></div><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABbFxvqhihbBc2AB"></script></div><p>But in the end, it was David who took the fatal blows as Miguelito cornered him, stabbed and shot him down. Tanggol fought his way through the enemies, desperate to reach his brother, but by the time he made it, he found David bloodied and barely hanging on. Tanggol wanted to rush him to the hospital, but David knew it was too late and chose instead to devote his final moments to seeking his brother’s forgiveness.  </p><p>It was as if that absolution was all David had been waiting for, because the moment Tanggol granted it, David took his final breath, leaving his &#x27;Kuya&#x27; shattered in grief. </p><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABbFvX1V_a7uRd4z"></script></div><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAFz8gWM8iRADsJr&amp;cid=ABbFu8-gifvzoq0o"></script></div><p>And behind the gripping moments that played with our hearts, the set of &quot;<a href="http://batangquiapo.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</u></strong></a>&quot; was filled with teamwork, focus, and a whole lot of passion for the craft.
