How art plays an important role in Dingdong Bahan and Patrick Ramirez’s relationship

“<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pbbgen112024" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11</a>” alums Patrick Ramirez and Dingdong Bahan, fondly called DongPat by their ardent shippers, were arguably among the well-admired housemates of their edition. Apart from their individual personalities, they also won our hearts with their courage to fight for their love and to flex it to the world. They may have failed to make it to the Big 4, yet the 2-in-1 housemates’ short-lived journey inside Bahay ni Kuya had allowed them to create a mark and inspire other people, especially those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community like them.And in a recent episode of “Are You G?,” the online talk show of The Filipino Channel on YouTube, viewers were given a glimpse of how they likely are whenever they go on dates together, as host (a.k.a. S1 | July 30, 2025 | EP 18" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>Even though he hails from the City of Manila, “Ang Go-getter Partner ng Manila” Patrick confessed that it was actually just his second time there, while “Ang Charismatic Partner ng Taguig” Dingdong said that it was just his first time setting foot in Intramuros. Their itinerary started at Plaza Moriones, then proceeded to Reducto de San Francisco Javier, Baluarte de San Diego, Bambike Eco Tours, Casa Manila, and Centro de Turismo Intramuros, until they reached their last destination, which was the souvenir shop. As they strolled and biked along the cobbled streets, as well as reveled in the beauty of the ancient structures and other sceneries, MJ also got to interview DongPat and quiz them about their personal lives that not many people may be aware of.Prior to joining “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pbbgen112024" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PBB Gen 11</a>” in 2024, Dingdong actually used to be a public servant in Taguig City, and that experience, according to him, has helped him adjust well in showbiz. Although the two fields are different from each other, both carry the core of dealing and working with people, which allowed him to have a smooth transition.On the other hand, Patrick revealed that he’s not new in the limelight anymore, as he used to appear in the variety show hosted by the late screen legend German “Kuya Germs” Moreno before he decided to pursue college and business. Inspired by the history of the ruins of Torre de Nuestra Senora de Guia, the watchtower built to overlook Manila Bay during the Spanish colonial era, MJ asked the couple if there were battles in their lives that they were able to turn into something beautiful. It was Dingdong who responded, saying that it’s definitely none other than the silent battle that they had to go through as an LBGTQIA+ couple. Coming out as gay and revealing their relationship were indeed a challenge for both of them considering their status in life, their careers, and the society they belong to. The acceptance of their respective families was also a significant factor, which inspired them to be part of “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pbbgen112024" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PBB Gen 11</a>” and share their story. MJ then mentioned the couple’s quite disastrous trip to La Union that they shared in one of their vlogs, wherein Patrick got sick. However, instead of getting ruined or spoiled, that getaway turned out to be unexpectedly romantic, as Dingdong was able to prove his love for Patrick by staying with him and taking care of him while their companions went on with their plans. As the “Are You G?” team capped off the tour at the souvenir shop, the paintings and other artsy keepsakes that they saw prompted DongPat to impart a trivia about their relationship that their fans may not even know yet. According to them, it was through art that they were able to find a common denominator during the early days of their romance. Dingdong confessed that he actually got more interested in Patrick upon learning that he’s into painting.“Kasi hindi ako magaling totally sa art. Pero no’ng malaman ko na magaling siyang mag-painting, parang na-amaze ako kasi nagvi-visit talaga ako museums to check lang [‘yong pieces], e hindi ako marunong,” Dingdong said.Being the introverted person that he is, Patrick conveyed that he doesn’t usually broadcast or share his talent and masterpieces on social media since he only considers it as a hobby. But seeing his partner’s potential as an artist, Dingdong took charge of sharing it on social media.
