Stella (Kim Chiu) lashes out at Rebecca (Irma Adlawan) with resentment in the June 29 episode of <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/the-alibi" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">“The Alibi.”</a>Tears immediately stream down Stella’s face as soon as she sees Rebecca bedridden, after years of silence since Rebecca abandoned her and her siblings. Rebecca calls out to Stella, whose anger surges, driving her to slam the door as she glares at her mother. “Buhay ka pa pala?!” Stella spits.“Anak…” Rebecca cries, but Stella mocks her for still daring to call her that. Rebecca pleads with Stella to let her explain what truly happened and why she disappeared from her family, yet Stella remains furious. “Sa tingin mo ba may sapat na dahilan at paliwanag sa lahat ng ginawa mo saming magkakapatid?”Stella is convinced that her mother’s situation is nothing but an act for sympathy. She adds that Rebecca might just be faking it because her lover has probably left her again. Rebecca denies Stella’s accusations, but Stella’s fury only deepens. “Huwag na huwag mo ’kong tatawaging anak kahit kailan,” she says.Rebecca continues to beg Stella to listen, fully aware of the pain she brought to her children by leaving them. &quot;Anak, maniwala ka, hindi ko ginusto,&quot; she sobs. But Stella is further triggered by her words that she never wanted it to happen. Stella retorts that Rebecca made the choice to leave them, and she must live with that decision.Rebecca asks Stella for forgiveness, but Stella declines, telling her mother how much she sacrificed for her siblings, including spending some time in jail which also hurt them. Rebecca cries in pain as Stella recounts everything she went through.As Stella lashes out, the nurse in charge reveals that Rebecca is paralyzed. Rebecca then confesses that everything happened because of Arthur (John Arcilla), leaving both Stella and Vincent (Paulo Avelino) confused.Family wounds deepen as Stella confronts Rebecca.
