Bela Padilla looks into Agent Lara’s strengths and vulnerabilities in “Blood vs Duty”

<p>The realistic complexity displayed by the interesting characters of “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/blood-vs-duty" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><u><em>Blood vs Duty</em></u></strong></a>” definitely piques the interest of viewers. This is especially the case for Bela Padilla’s layered character as Agent Lara Angeles, who currently serves as the head agent of Task Force Alpha and turns out to be among the co-conspirators of Gen. Carillo (Bodjie Pascua) in their quest for destabilizing the nation.  </p><p>Lara is primarily driven by intense resentment resulting from the tragic murders of her parents, and this was further exploited by Gen. Carillo, who raised her as his own daughter. In each of the appearances she made in every episode, her wardrobe typically consists of sleek coats, elegant heels, classy vests, pristine long sleeves, and a covert shoulder harness.  </p><p>If one scene were to encapsulate her overall fashion sense, it would be when she was shockingly revealed as the mastermind behind the first abduction of Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas). Moreover, they successfully relayed the hospital blueprint, hijacked the CCTVs, and made Director Azuelo (Rommel Padilla) buy some time through negotiations with the brothers, all to facilitate Task Force Alpha’s careful entry.  </p><div> </div><div><strong>Bela lauding Lara’s enduring bravery </strong></div><p>While Lara is already tremendously adept as a strategist, she is also extraordinarily fearless in the battlegrounds. Even in Task Force Alpha, which recently welcomed just one female member, Agent Eve Castillo (Lou Yanong).  </p><div> </div><div><strong>Bela emerging dissatisfied whenever Lara cannot express herself properly  </strong></div><p>When it comes to expressing herself, Lara can be quite difficult to read. Inside NLEA’s headquarters, she shows a strict and stoic personality, while in tragic circumstances, Lara naturally unmasks her emotional personality, specifically crying upon remembering her murdered parents and Task Force Alpha colleagues.  </p><p>On the topic of resentment, Lara is almost drowning in it, as seen through her reaction when she finally caught Datu Rahman, whom she believed was the root cause of her parents’ death.  </p><p>Despite her confrontational side, Lara inevitably shrinks herself whenever Gen. Carillo, her adoptive father, criticizes her. Carillo. The moment she attempted to finally defend the innocent lives lost during the ambushes that were orchestrated by Gen.
