<p>While the <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/focus/03/18/16/poverty-incidence-in-philippines-eased-in-2015-study-says"><strong>poverty incidence</strong></a> in the Philippines has eased in the first semester of 2015, residents of many provinces remain poor and do not have the income needed to meet basic food and non-food needs.</p><p>According to the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the country&#x27;s first-semester poverty incidence among population has gone down to 26.3% from 28.8% in 2006.</p><p>Regionally, however, poverty incidence has increased in the National Capital Region (NCR), Region 8, and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).</p><p>Following are the top 20 provinces, mostly from Region 8 and ARMM, that have the highest poverty incidence among population.</p><div class="rtecenter"><strong>Mobile users can view the desktop version of this slideshow </strong><a href="~/focus/v2/03/24/16/what-are-the-20-poorest-provinces-in-the-philippines"><strong>here</strong></a><strong>.</strong></div><center><div><img alt="" src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/news-special1/nation/07/29/sorsogon.jpg"/></div></center><p class="rtecenter">Sorsogon City Hall. <em>www.sorsogoncity.gov.ph</em></p><h1 class="rtecenter">20.
