Grace Poe and an alleged relative did not match, the senator said Friday.Speaking at the sidelines of her press briefing in Pangasinan, Poe told reporters that the DNA test with Lorena Rodriguez-Dechavez revealed negative results, meaning they did not match.Lorena is Poe&#x27;s supposed aunt from Guimaras.Lorena earlier said in interviews that they had long known Poe as the biological daughter of her sister, Victoria, who died in 1996 of a heart attack.Lorena has claimed that Poe was brought from their home in Buenavista town to Jaro District in Iloilo for adoption.According to Poe, the result has no bearing on the ongoing hearing of her disqualification case over at the Supreme Court because she maintains that their defense is not anchored on these results.Poe is facing several disqualification cases before the Supreme Court for not being a natural-born Filipino and for failing the 10-year residency requirement.Under the Constitution, only natural-born Filipinos may sit as president, vice president, senator and congressman. A natural-born Filipino is one whose biological father or mother is a Filipino citizen at the time of the child&#x27;s birth.Poe was found abandoned as an infant in a church in Iloilo City on September 3, 1968. She was later adopted by the late action king Fernando Poe Jr. and veteran actress Susan Roces.<div><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/nation/06/02/15/foundling-named-grace">A foundling named Grace</a></div>In a bid to prove that she was born to Filipino parents to finally resolve her disqualification case, Poe underwent a DNA test last September. She later told radio DZMM that the results of the DNA test, which involved two other persons, were negative.Poe said she is thankful to the Rodriguez-Dechavez family for voluntarily offering to take the DNA test to help her find closure.On a personal level, the presidential candidate said that it&#x27;s been an &quot;emotional rollercoaster&quot; for her because she can&#x27;t help but hope that she will finally finish her search for her true parents.She added there are other families still offering to get a DNA test for her, to help her trace her roots.She said even Sen. Ferdinand &quot;Bongbong&quot; Marcos Jr. offered to take a DNA test, adding that she will only accept it after the 2016 elections.It has long been rumored that Poe is also a daughter of former President Ferdinand Marcos, but both Poe and Marcos Jr. have belied it.
