Kapamilya Spotlight: 5 reasons why Chito Miranda is a perfect judge for Idol PH Season 2

<p>Many were surely surprised upon finding out that Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda will be sitting alongside Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Moira Dela Torre, and Gary Valenciano as the panel of judges of the forthcoming Season 2 of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/idolphilippines"><strong><u>Idol Philippines</u></strong></a><strong><u>.</u></strong></p><p>But little we did know that this is actually not the first time that he was offered to be a juror of the talent show. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he revealed that the production asked him to be part of the first season, but he declined. He said, “I didn&#x27;t think it would be fair for me to judge in a singing contest, knowing <em>na &#x27;di naman ako magaling kumanta</em>.”</p><p>According to him, he decided to put his reservations behind and finally agreed to go on with the project this time after it was extensively explained to him that although it’s primarily a singing contest, it will not only focus on the voice quality of the contestants.</p><p>Aside from being the lead vocalist of one of the most iconic, best-selling, and all-time favorite artists in the local entertainment scene, what could be reasons why Chito truly suits this new role? Here are some of the reasons we’ve come up with, based on his remarkable appearances in ABS-CBN programs in the past years!</p><div><strong>He supports aspiring and younger breeds of musicians</strong></div><p>Abra, or Raymond Abracosa, started his career as a rapper in 2012. Chito emerged on the stage afterwards and belted out “Buloy,” which got everyone in the crowd enthusiastically singing along.</p><p>Amazingly, despite the influx of artists in the past years, they’ve remained relevant and one of the top artists in the country.</p><div><strong>He has an exceptional charisma</strong></div><p>Being the lead vocalist of a band requires one to not just have great voice, but a personal appeal, too, which not only constitutes good looks, but a unique charm that cannot be seen to others. However, it never created tension among the members as they actually make fun of it and like that Chito is the one mainly in-charge of almost everything, especially interviews. </p><p>Besides, the 46-year-old rockstar related that it never crossed his mind to go solo since he and his bandmates truly enjoy working together, not to mention that they’ve been friends for a very long time. He also disclosed that despite being opinionated, he’s actually not keen on writing politically-related songs because their band has been all about fun.</p><p>And his humility and authenticity could be two of the secrets of his and Parokya Ni Edgar’s longevity in the OPM scene, which the younger generation or artists should also possess.</p><div><strong>He could be a role model to aspirants in-and-out of the limelight</strong></div><p>Celebrities may have a negative reputation when it comes to romantic affairs, but Chito is among those who begs to differ. He’s admired for his loyalty and being a great family man to his wife Neri and their kids Miggy and Cash.</p><p>His virtual interview with ABS-CBN Lifestyle in June 2020 gave us a glimpse of who he is at home – the facet of him that we rarely see.</p><p>Along with his beloved wife Neri, he talked about his life as a dad, especially in the midst of a pandemic.
