6 remarkable winning moments on It’s Showtime this 2023

<p>For 14 years, <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime"><strong><u>It’s Showtime</u></strong></a> has been a part of our daily routines, never failing to provide us with good vibes and laughter that we truly need in order to get by every day with a smile on our faces and happy feelings in our souls.</p><p>It may have been an eventful year for the well-loved program, but there were still a lot of things that were worth celebrating, such as the remarkable winning moments in some of its segments this 2023. Keep reading as we revisit seven of the remarkable victories that we witnessed in this special year-end feature. </p><div><strong>Mary Delle Cascabel is the fiercest “Girl On Fire”</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/a7glsKJ4CGc" title="Girl on Fire: The Blazing Finale Top 3! | Girl On Fire" width="640"></iframe></div><p>First on this list is the triumphant moment of Mary Delle Cascabal, who was able to prove that she’s indeed the fiercest gal that ever graced the It’s Showtime stage when she was hailed as the grand winner of “Girl On Fire” during the “Blazing Finale” held last February. </p><p>The Cebuana dancer set the literally blazing dance floor on fire with her sizzling performance that earned her a total average score of 9.3 from the combined scores given by Hataw Royalties Regine Tolentino, Sunshine Garcia, G-Force Myka, AC Bonifacio, Chie Filomeno, Zeus Collins, Jay Roncesvalles, Vimi Rivera, and John Prats, besting her rivals Kaye Alfafara (8.7) and Beverly Ypon (7.7).</p><p>Mentored by AC Bonifacio, Mary Delle immediately made an impression just at the beginning of the contest, which was enough for her to make it to the top 6. She also wowed everyone with her performance in the next round, wherein she and the other five remaining contestants grooved to the powerful rendition of “Bang Bang” by Jona, Sheena Belarmino, and Janine Berdin. And eventually, she also dominated the final battle dubbed “Ring of Fire”. </p><p>As the last woman standing in the competition, she bagged the P500,000 cash prize, an exclusive management contract from Star Magic’s Polaris, and a trophy.</p><div><strong>Lyka Estrella hailed as Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 6 grand winner</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dpxvYWni_4Y" title="Lyka Estrella wins as Tawag Ng Tanghalan 6 Grand Champion | Tawag Ng Tanghalan" width="640"></iframe></div><p>After failing on her previous attempts in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tawagngtanghalan"><strong><u>Tawag ng Tanghalan</u></strong></a>, Lyka is a great testament that the third is indeed the charm as she finally joined its growing elite group of champions after winning the sixth season that concluded last May. </p><p>The pride of General Santos City, who happened to be a “resbaker” or wildcard contender, managed to garner the highest score of 98.8%, besting her other fellow top 3 contenders Nowi Alpuerto (95.1%) and Jezza Quioge (89.6%) during the <em>“Huling Tapatan”</em>. </p><p>Lyka delivered an astounding rendition of <em>“Ngayon At Kailanman”</em> in the first round of the grand finals, then stirred us with her duet of “Dream On” with Klarisse de Guzman. She then received a standing ovation from the <em>hurados </em>for her impeccable medley of Jessi J hits. </p><p>As the grand winner, she took home a brand new house and lot, one million pesos cash, a Toym Imao trophy, a management contract under Star Magic’s Polaris, and a recording contract under Star Music </p><p>She currently performs on <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asap"><strong><u>ASAP Natin ‘To</u></strong></a> and is even the powerful voice behind “Hawak Mo,” the original soundtrack of the afternoon soap opera “<strong><u><a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/nagaapoynadamdamin">Nag-aapoy na Damdamin</a>.</u></strong>” </p><div><strong>Marielle Montellano and JM Dela Cerna named as TNT Duets champions</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/M6tiinSrbOY" title="Marielle Montellano &amp; JM Dela Cerna wins as Tawag Ng Tanghalan Duets Grand Champion | TNT Duets" width="640"></iframe></div><p>Shortly after the conclusion of TNT Season 6, <strong>It’s Showtime</strong> launched a new edition of the long-running reality singing competition dubbed <strong>TNT Duets</strong><em>. </em>It featured returning contenders of Tawag ngTanghalan, not as solo performers but as duos who were scored and judged as one. Two pairs competed in a duet showdown in every episode and the winning duo advanced to the weekly finals. Since it was just an interim season, the weekly finalists competed for a spot in the grand finals, which happened last July 1.</p><p>Out of the several talented duos that took centerstage, it was the “Sidlak Bisdak” tandem of Marielle Montellano and JM Dela Cerna that emerged as the winner. Avid fans of TNT would certainly recall that Marielle was part of Season 1, while JM was a finalist in Season 3.</p><p>During the <strong>Huling Tapatan</strong><em>,</em> they truly got the <em>madlang </em>people <em>kilig </em>with their rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” which earned them a place in the Final 3. And in the last round of the contest, they truly took our hearts away with their duet of the Air Supply hit “Now and Forever,” which garnered the highest mark of 98.3%. They bested “The OG’s” comprised by Anton Antenorcruz and Eumee Capile and “The Incredi-voice” composed of Kim Nemenzo and John Mark Saga, which landed on third and second places, respectively. The grand champions took home a whopping Php500,000 cash prize and a trophy created by Toym Imao.</p><p>Marielle and JM have gone on to become part of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asap"><strong><u>ASAP Natin ‘To</u></strong></a> as among its performers, as well as of the online program <strong>Showtime Online U</strong> as two of its newest hosts. </p><div><strong>Arianah Kelsey Lasam is Mini Miss U Season 2</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8De5Rq4iY3I" title="Arianah Kelsey is crowned as the Mini Ms. U Grand Winner | Its Showtime Mini Miss U" width="640"></iframe></div><p>It might have taken her quite some time for her winning moment, but it was definitely worth the wait for Arianah Kelsey Lasam, who was hailed the grand winner of <strong>Mini Miss U </strong>during the grand finals held last October 28. </p><p>The four-year-old charmer from Angeles City, Pampanga indeed captured the hearts of the finale judges not just with her irresistible cuteness, bubbly personality, and catchy favorite line, “yes, girl!”, but with her answer during the “Mini Mensahe” portion, in which she was asked to deliver a message to Filipina superhero Darna.</p><p>She expressed, “Darna<em>, sana sabihin mo sa’kin ‘</em>yes girl.’ <em>Kasi pinapanood kita dati. Gusto ko po kita makita. Tapos po, gusto ko magkita kayo ni</em> Meme Vice <em>para maging artista ka, maging sikat ka, kasi po maganda maging sikat siya. Lumilipad siya. Tinutulungan niya yung mga tao.”</em></p><p>Arianah took home a whopping P300,000 cash prize, a crown, a sash, and a management contract from Polaris.</p><div><strong>Fresno Style PH dominates It’s Showdown</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KZld9nJoqwo" title="Fresno Style PH emerges as the Grand Champion of It" s="" Showdown="" width="640"></iframe></div><p>Due to their impeccable dance skills and mind-blowing stunts that they exhibited on the It’s Showtime dance arena, Fresno Style PH was named the first-ever grand champion of “It’s Showdown” during the “The Grand Hatawan” last December 2. </p><p>The pride of Pangasinan amazed the judges in both rounds of the grand finale, “Dancing with the Stars” and “Huling Hataw.” Thus, they’re able to earn the total average score of 7.8 in the final round from the combined scores from dance royalties – world champion coach and World of Dance country director Vimi Rivera, Star Magic head choreographer Mickey Perz, OG Sexbomb member Jopay, New Gen Dance Princess AC Bonifacio, and Former XB Gensan member Jay Roncesvalles – beating their stiffest rival United Alliance that got a score of 7.2.</p><p>Fresno Style PH took home P300,000 and a trophy. </p><div><strong>Team Jhong-Kim-Ion emerges as Magpasikat 2023 winner</strong></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DpQZ6M4N-0Q" title="Team Jhong, Kim, and Ion wins Magpasikat 2023! | It" s="" width="640"></iframe></div><p>Last, but definitely not the least, is the declaration of Team Jhong-Kim-Ion as the grand winner for Magpasikat 2023 last November 11 after their showcase about the responsible use of social media and technology garnered the highest score.</p><p>The concept, acrobatic and parkour skills, performances, and stirring message of Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, and Ion Perez, totally impressed the stellar panel of judges comprised of Barbie Imperial, Apl.de.Ap, Jett Pangan, Olivia M. Lamasan, and Tirso Cruz III. They won P300,000, which they gave to their chosen charity. </p><p>Landing the second place was the team of Anne Curtis, Ogie Alcasid, and Ryan Bang, who conveyed the message of healing, while the touching and amusing tribute of Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz, and Jugs Jugueta to the late comedians of the Philippines put them on the third place.</p><p>Meanwhile, the teams of Vice Ganda, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez, and Karylle, Amy Perez, Lassy, and MC each got a consolation prize of P50,000 that also went to their chosen charities. </p><p><strong>It’s Showtime</strong> might have gone through a lot of challenges this year, but it sets as a good example for us to celebrate every milestone and keep moving forward nonetheless.
