Both of them are well-known in their respective fields, thus, there’s no wonder why the beginning of the relationship of former <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a>’s Hashtag member Bugoy Cariño and University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball superstar EJ Laure had been tumultuous. It was marred with rumors, which they consistently quashed in separate interviews and occasions.And after years and months of dodging the speculations that surfaced about their personal lives, especially their romantic affair, the two finally revealed that they already have a child together – a daughter named Scarlet – through a social media post on Bugoy’s birthday in September 2020.From simply giving us a glimpse of their life together on social media, the couple opened up about their relationship on Star Cinema’s digital talk show “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/ifeelu">I Feel U</a>” hosted by Toni Gonzaga a month after. According to them, their paths first crossed when Bugoy and his friends, who were avid volleyball fans, used to watch games. As if a twist of fate, one of the games he was able to watch was of UST Golden Tigresses, in which EJ used to play for. That’s when he started to get got curious about her, until one of their mutual friends introduced them to one another. Aside from raising their beloved daughter, another challenge that they have to face were the snide comments they still receive from naysayers and bashers. But amidst those, their love for each other only gets stronger than ever.When asked how they handle those kinds of people, the 24-year-old athlete disclosed that they simply shrug those all off. She said, “Kasi si Bugoy, parang ever since talaga wala siyang pake sa sasabihin ng ibang tao. So, no’ng nagtagal-tagal ‘yong relationship namin, parang natutunan ka na ring dedmahin, parang gano’n. Hindi ko pinapansin ‘yong sinasabi ng ibang tao. Basta ang importante, kung anong meron sa aming dalawa at saka ‘yong kay baby.”The 19-year-old artist stated, &quot;Siguro &#x27;yong pagmamahalan po namin ngayon ay hindi naging madali pero habang tumatagal, mas tumitibay &#x27;yung pagmamahalan namin. Basta maging masaya po kami, basta happy si Scarlet, happy kami. And nagagawa namin &#x27;yong goals namin at responsibility namin sa families namin.
