The year 2022 was indeed an eventful year for many of us, as plenty of good, bad, exciting, and exhausting things happened that made it truly remarkable. And the same went for the It’s Showtime fam and their avid viewers as we witnessed five notable comebacks in the past year. Let’s revisit them in this Kapamilya Toplist!

First off, the homecoming of Anne Curtis after more than two years of taking a maternity break in December 2019. She might have to leave for quite some time, but the love of madlang people for her has remained the same – based on the warm and joyous welcome she received during her first physical appearance on the show in May 2022 after her showbiz hiatus.

The one and only “Dyosa” was indeed blooming on her grand comeback, which she marked by belting out the Ariana Grande hit “Break Free” in true Anne Curtis fashion, while cladded in a shimmering silver butterfly top, black leather pants, and slick long locks. Prior to her explosive number, she was serenaded by her co-hosts with “Sun And Moon” by Anees and “My Universe” by Coldplay and BTS, with Vice Ganda delivering the hilarious, yet heartwarming opening spiel.

Just a few days after, Jhong Hilario surprised everyone with his bizarre comeback in the first week of June. He introduced himself as a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant named Friedrich Palacol and wore a full disguise so that he wouldn’t be recognized by anyone.

He sang “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko” as he slowly removed his disguise, much to the shock of his co-hosts. Vice Ganda, meanwhile, wasn’t able to contain his emotions, especially when Jhong approached and tightly embraced him. The original and current hosts went on to share tears and laughter as they bantered up to the last minutes of that episode, wherein he stated that he would make a comeback right after he took his oath as councilor of Makati City.

The return of Jhong also marked the return of his and co-host Vhong Navarro’s kind of physical hosting with the Unkabogable Star as their poor target. In an episode of Miss Q & A Kween of the Multibeks, they suddenly carried the unsuspecting Vice with their arms in the groin and relentless shook him, much to the amusement of the madlang people.

And speaking of Miss Q & A Kween of the Multibeks, we’re able to see some of the queens we loved from the previous seasons of the well-loved pageant in October as they returned for latest season’s “The All-Star Warlahan”. Among them were Brenda Mage, Manny Dionisia, Marigona, Elsa Droga, and the eventual grand winner Anne Patricia Lorenzo.

Last, but definitely not the least, are the madlang people as the restrictions for live studio audiences were finally lifted in July. Thus, on the very first day of their return, Vice Ganda made sure to mingle with and interview some of them as a way of showing how much they miss and appreciate them.

Were you able to catch these much-awaited and surprise comebacks, Kapamilya? What exciting happenings are we going to witness on the noontime program this year? Let’s all find out by watching It’s Showtime, Mondays to Saturdays on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel and TV5.
