Bela, Ryan tackle importance of surrounding oneself with right people, having relationship with God

Far from the hilarious asaran moments between Bela Padilla and Ryan Bang on “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a>” every time she is there as their guest co-host, we got to see their serious mode on as he took his turn to be her guest in the latest episode of her online talk show, “Being Limitless,” uploaded on her YouTube channel.Bela commenced their insightful and hearty conversation by imparting that she got to work with him in “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/bananasundae">Banana Sundae</a>” and “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a>” a number of instances already. According to Ryan, it was initially not his choice to come here and stay for a long time because it was his mom who decided for him to do so. Since she had to raise him singlehandedly until he was 14 after she and his father separated due to financial struggles, she really struggled to juggle making a living and taking care of him, not to mention that they didn’t have a permanent home back then.Thus, in order for him to be well taken care of and for her to be able to work to give him a bright future, she came up with the idea of sending him to the Philippines to live with her best friend for quite some time. However, what was supposed to be only a vacation went on to become for good.With Bang Hyun-sung as his biological name, he only came up with his English name “Ryan” after someone called him that way as soon as he arrived at the airport. So, when the personal driver of his foster family that fetched him asked him what his name was, he introduced himself as “Ryan.” Since then, he’s been using “Ryan Bang.”Aside from keeping himself busy with his showbiz commitments, Bela conveyed being a witness to how Ryan hustled through the years from simply concocting and selling kimchi and putting up his own Korean food hub, to owning of a traditional Korean restaurant, a horchata café, and a content studio with meeting rooms that are all situated in one building.So, when she asked how challenging the entire journey was for him, Ryan remarked, “Sobrang hirap.” That’s why it is vital for him to find the right people who would help him make his business become successful. At the same time, it’s also important for him that one knows his strengths and skills and that business partners have limitations so they wouldn’t cross each other’s lines.Even though Ryan’s businesses have been doing well, Bela appreciated it that his parents continue to work and do not depend on him. They may not have obliged him to support them financially, yet he finds pleasure in sharing his blessings with them.If we invest much time in attaining our goals, we should also do the same when it comes to choosing the people we would allow in our lives or with whom we’re going to ask for help because they can totally affect our lives. Taking, for example, having the right person or partner whom we’re going to spend the rest of our years on Earth with, which he has already found in his non-showbiz fiancée, Paola Huyong.As Bela recalled the time when she noticed how seemingly lost he was during her stints on “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a>” between 2019 and 2020, Ryan implied that he’s now already at the point in his life that he no longer gets happy or sad to the extremes. It also helps him to have the mentality that going through bad situations or experiences is part of the process before getting to the good.He stressed, as well, how important it is to have a relationship with God because, based on his own experience, He has not only answered his prayers but has never failed to make him eventually realize why things happen to him, too. Moreover, he also believes that “life is a choice talaga,” from choosing to believe in God to selecting the people or friends that he has welcomed and allowed to stay in his life.Ryan went on to impart that one of the best things that ever happened to him was to meet and be friends with his “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a>” co-hosts, particularly Vice Ganda, because they helped change his perception in life. He described his “Mommy Vice” as “strict” yet kind and “warm-hearted,” as well as “very professional,” which really helped him as he grew up in showbiz.Apart from the Unkabogable Star, he’s also thankful to God for putting Angelica Panganiban and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco in his life, for they’re also among the people who have guided him as he navigated the industry. The same with ABS-CBN Head of TV Production and Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi, who has been there for him since “PBB Teen Clash of 2010” days. Of course, Paola wouldn’t be out of the list because she has obsviously contributed a lot in his life ever since they crossed paths and became together.When asked by Bela for his advice to young people for them to become as limitless as him, Ryan said, “Always listen to your parents. Kasi when I was 14 or 15, I thought many people cared about me. [But] they don’t really care about other people e. Who really cares about you is your family and parents lang. No one really care about you that much. You pray with God, and you listen to your parents – [those are] my secrets.”Then he continued, “When you grow old, you have to honor your parents para i-bless ka ni Lord. ‘Yon ‘yong payo ko sa mga kabataan. And hanap kayo ng dream kung saan talaga ang hilig n’yo, kung saan ka magaling kasi ang hirap ng buhay, ang hirap ng trabaho. Hanap ka ng dream, na talagang gusto mo, tapos kahit ilang beses kang madapa, just keep going. Patagalan hindi pabilisan.”
