We have different ways of celebrating our birthdays. Commonly, the celebrator hosts a mini or huge gathering, or may be hopped on to his/her dream getaway on her special day. But for some, it’s about sharing your blessings to people in need, just like what <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime" target="_blank">It’s Showtime</a> host Kim Chiu did during her birthday last April 19.As she marked her 32nd year here on earth, she decided to kick it off by having a simple birthday salubong with her family and then by distributing grocery packages and food packs to her three chosen charities for this year, with the help of her sister Lakam, brother JP and his girlfriend Vanessa, and their few friends.This initiative, which she tagged “#KimChiuGivesBack,” has actually been her annual tradition, but the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic had prevented them from doing so last year. Thus, she decided to go all-out this 2022.Their first stop was the farmers’ community in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo, Rizal, which she chose as her way of showing appreciation and extending her gratitude for their unwavering hardwork in feeding not just their families, but the nation as well. She was welcomed by the families of the farmers, who greeted her and sang her a “happy birthday” song.Next was the Village of Hope orphanage, wherein she’s able to interact with the kids being taken care of there, by dancing, playing, and chatting with them. They even offered a heartfelt birthday song and prayer for her.And lastly, they did a quick visit at the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City to drop off the food packs, as well as the stretchers and oximeters, they donated.Aside from gift-giving, it’s also part of their tradition to prepare at least a small party for everyone who’s celebrating his/her birthday in their household. Thus, Kim was shocked to see that her Ate Lakam didn’t prepare anything upon her arrival and it was already evening.She started to get upset, especially when her brother JP told her that they had to pass by the property she acquired before heading to the restaurant where they would have dinner. Unbeknown to her, she was already being pranked by her siblings, as her Ate Lakam actually organized a surprise birthday bash for her. And it was indeed a success!The party was attended by the Chinita Princess’ whole family, her boyfriend Xian Lim, her <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime" target="_blank">It’s Showtime</a> family together with her fellow <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asap" target="_blank">ASAP Natin ‘To</a> mainstay Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Direk Laurenti Dyogi, and couple Dra. Vicky Bela and Hayden Kho.Each of her family members delivered their heartwarming messages for her, as well as some of the other attendees. They also danced to “Tala” as led by her friends in G-Force and even had a kinda wild yet fun drinking sesh.Kim capped off her vlog by expressing her gratitude to everyone who greeted and joined her on her special day.“It is a day filled with love and love and love and love.
