We all know Darren Espanto as a total performer who can sing, dance, and act. And this year, another feather is added to his cap as he’s also now part of It’s Showtime as the newest addition to its gregarious lineup of hosts. From being a mere guest performer and/or host, he eventually turned into its regular host, which became official when he took part in the contract signing event with GMA last March.

And in the past months that he has been on the noontime program, the multi-faceted artist has already impressed the madlang people with his hosting chops, as well as his ability to keep pace with the humor of his co-hosts. Let us revisit some of his best moments so far on the show in this episode of it’s Showtime Toplist!

Early this year, he vowed to be regularly present on It’s Showtime when asked what he would want to start this 2024, much to delight of everyone. And as part of his stint, Darren has already tried hosting the “Expecially For You” segment, where he got to impart valuable relationship advice to the searchees, as well as his personal experience on love.

He’s also able to display his kakulitan, especially every time he shares the stage with his bestie Kim Chiu. Aside from apparently having the same kind of humor, they also have the same level of energy, which we really find adorable.

Being the bunso and just naturally generous, Darren seems to be the “errand boy” of his It’s Showtime fam as Vice Ganda revealed that he puts himself in charge of ordering food or coffee for everyone. He was even caught by the Unkabogable Star coming from outside the studio once after claiming his order.

He may be a host first when he is in It’s Showtime, but the talented Gen Z heartthrob still gets to showcase his incredible singing and dancing skills every now and then. There were also instances that he was asked by his co-hosts, particularly by Vice, to emulate the singing styles of some famous OPM singers, just like what he did in an episode of Tawag ng Tanghalan wherein he belted out “Ililigtas Ka Niya” ala Gary Valenciano and Erik Santos. He also did it in an episode of “Isip Bata,” but instead of singing, he demonstrated how an ambulance siren would sound using their voice.

Catch more of Darren’s kulitan moments on It’s Showtime hosts, Mondays to Saturdays at noontime, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, GMA and A2Z.
