It is said that siblings are among the first best friends we make in life. But it’s completely not the case for the resentful Iris, compellingly portrayed by Janine Gutierrez, who considers her younger half-sister Heather, impressively played by Analain Salvador, as one of her enemies in “Lavender Fields.”

As we all know, Iris is the type of person who’s not willing to share the significant things she has with other people—may it be her husband, Tyrone (Jericho Rosales), or her father, Vittorio (Edu Manzano). So, there’s no wonder why Iris has been hostile towards Heather, who is her dad’s daughter to another woman with whom he had a relationship long after his falling out with her mom.

Fully aware that it’s all his fault, Vitto apologized to her firstborn in one of their heart-to-heart conversations and asked her to not get Heather involved. However, Iris was too furious to forgive him for allegedly cheating on her mom, as well as to allow her half-sister to come at their house that she firmly believes belongs to her and her mom.

Since this has been the case, a strong sibling rivalry ensued between Iris and Heather, which we got to observe in several scenes, such as the ones we compiled in this Kapamilya Update feature.

Let’s start with the scene wherein Vitto tried to build a cordial bond between his two daughters by asking Iris to greet her younger sister, who was still then in the United States, for graduating college as summa cum laude. His efforts were somehow not put to waste, as Iris obliged by nonchalantly uttering, “Wow. Good for you, sis,” then quickly left.

As we've mentioned, Iris is not keen on the idea of Heather coming to their home. Thus, she was absolutely vexed when Vitto told her that Heather would be staying there with them. And not just that, he even asked Iris to be Heather's mentor as she begins working at their company.

After trying to control her temper, the volatile Iris finally exploded when Heather aired her doubts and sentiments regarding her friendship with Lavender. As Heather expressed that she’s just concerned for her and their family's safety, Iris indignantly told her to return to where she came from.

Iris once again went livid on her younger sister after Heather confronted her about being rude to their father during their heated argument the night before. Heather told her, “You don’t talk to our father that way, Ate!” to which Iris replied that she must never pry.

And lastly, a scorching spat ensued between the siblings after Heather attempted to convince Iris to apologize to their father following their tiff, yet the latter was adamant since she was not sorry for what she did. Heather, nonetheless, remained persistent to mend the rift between them, reminding her older sister that she was the one at fault so she must be the one to make the first move. Lavender interfered in their altercation and advised Heather to respect her Ate Iris, which prompted Heather to leave.
