There’s definitely nothing more painful and disorienting than losing the only people you consider family. And that’s what happened to Jasmine Flores (Jodi Sta. Maria), the endearing main character of the primetime series “Lavender Fields,” who lost both her beloved mother and newborn child in just a span of a few days.

While it was truly paralyzing, Jasmine mustered the strength to get up and run for her life, through which she was able to meet Aster Fields (Maricel Soriano), the benevolent woman who has given her a second chance in life. Now that Jasmine assumes a new identity as the titular character, Lavender Fields, in her pursuit of exacting revenge on those who wronged her, let’s revisit the moments when Aster showed how much she cared for her in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist.

As she was already feeling helpless and hopeless, Jasmine found someone who became a beacon of light for her—Aster. Despite seeing Jasmine all bloodied, disheveled, and wounded inside her car and brandishing a pair of scissors as she asked for help, that didn’t hinder the gracious woman from giving her what she wanted.

Even though she didn’t know who she was, Aster still welcomed Jasmine to her house and agreed to help her find her missing child. When the latter asked the former why she was helping her, Aster simply said that it was because she needed her help and knew how it feels to lose a child since her daughter has been missing for three years already.

Aside from simply treating her wounds and providing her a place to stay, Aster also gave Jasmine a total makeover so that it would be easier for her to embrace her new identity. She didn’t only revamp the way Jasmine looks, dresses up, and carries herself, but also trained her to observe proper etiquette, be fluent in English, move gracefully, and take good care of herself through working out and yoga. And most importantly, Aster also gave her a new name, which is “Lavender Fields”, as inspired by the favorite flower of her daughter.

From being a flower farmer and budding florist, Jasmin has become an event stylist under the guidance of Aster, who owns The Luxe Grand Terrace, one of the premier event styling agencies in town. And Jasmine used this as her way to get into the circle of her nemesis, Iris Buenavidez-De Vera (Janine Gutierrez), by persuading her friends to hire them as the official stylist of her birthday party. It happened after Lavender successfully destroyed the friendship of Petunia (Pamu Pamorada), one of Iris friends, with their most trusted stylist, Kate Victoria, who used to work for Aster.

Although Jasmine has been doing an impressive job as an event stylist, Aster has remained hands-on in managing her business and in guiding her. Apart from being her beacon of light, Aster also served as Jasmine’s source of calmness, especially during that time when Iris almost got into her nerves when they met again at her party.

But whenever they are not taking on their mission, Aster is Jasmine’s solace as she continues to grieve over her missing child, “Bella,” and yearn to see her.

Aster and Jasmine may have come from different walks of life, but it’s their unwavering love for their children and desire to find them again that bind them together and make them strong and powerful.
