MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte's youngest son, Sebastian Duterte, finally broke his silence after some netizens speculated that he and Ellen Adarna were smoking marijuana in a video shared by the actress on social media last January.

Adarna’s video has since been reposted under the YouTube channel LFMV which was titled “ELLEN ADARNA AND BASTE DUTERTE: SABOG NA SABOG.”

Addressing the rumor, Duterte simply shared a photo of him on Instagram while smoking what appears to be a cigarette.

In the caption, Duterte wrote: “Ingon nila marijuana pud daw ni.” (Sabi nila marijuana din daw ito.)

Duterte’s reaction came days after Adarna clarified that they were just both drunk in the viral video and that the son of the President wasn’t smoking weed but an electronic cigarette from Japan.

Speaking to entertainment site PEP, Adarna said she would not have posted the video online if they were using an illegal substance.

“I wouldn’t post it online if it was weed. Hahaha. Sino bang tanga gagawa n’yan? Not unless ma-legalize na medicinal weed. Lol. Anak pa cya ni digong hajahajaj,” Adarna said, unedited.

“They can say whatever they say. We were both drunk. Baste was smoking real cigarettes. It’s called IQOS from Japan. You can google it,” she added.

Adarna even shared in jest on who she thinks could have possibly started the whole controversy.

“Hahahaah because i hate draaagss ajajajajahaha. Baka si trillanes nag pa isyu nyan ahahaa Lol,” she told PEP.

Adarna and Duterte were formerly in a romantic relationship. Although they broke up before Christmas last year, it was only last January 29 when Adarna admitted that they have already called it quits.
