DAVAO CITY - Students from the Ateneo de Davao University showcased sculptures created by inmates from the Davao Penal Colony in a three-day livelihood program exhibit.

Among the artworks on display are wood sculptures of animals, and mythical creatures.

Social marketing students said proceeds of the sale will be given to Davao Penal Colony inmates.

The students also aim to showcase the creativity of inmates.

"There's more to being an inmate, the compassion, and to be understood; and most especially to see the products na pwede silang gumawa, maka-contribute sa ating society," said Anthony Aguelo, a social marketing professor.

The students are urging commercial establishments to sell the inmates' artworks in their stores.
