<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/life/03/21/20190321-exo-prom.jpg"/><figcaption>Beatriz Pineda took a standee of South Korean singer D.O. to her prom as her date.<em> Photo courtesy of Beatriz Pineda</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA -- Almost every fan dreams of having their celebrity crush take them on a date.</p><p>A student from Antipolo City somehow turned that dream into a reality when she took a standee of her favorite K-pop singer as her &quot;prom date&quot; last March 16.</p><p>Beatriz Pineda caught the attention of netizens after photos of her and her &quot;prom date,&quot; D.O. of the boy group EXO, made the rounds on social media.</p><p>Pineda, a 17-year-old student at PAREF Rosehill, said she came up with the idea so she would not have to worry about entertaining an actual date for the event.</p><p>&quot;My friends and I decided to bring our brothers as our dates, but I didn&#x27;t have a brother. I didn&#x27;t want to invite someone because that would mean I would have to keep him entertained the whole night,&quot; she told ABS-CBN News.</p><p>&quot;So I came up with this crazy idea of bringing a Kyungsoo standee as my date because I wouldn&#x27;t have to worry about keeping him entertained and I felt that I would be comfortable with him and I would be really be able to enjoy the night,&quot; she said, mentioning D.O.&#x27;s real name, Do Kyungsoo.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/life/03/21/exoprom401.jpg"/><figcaption>Pineda and her D.O. standee were named prom king and queen.</figcaption></figure></div><p>The night turned even more memorable for Pineda when she and her D.O. standee were named prom king and queen, which was determined by the votes of the other students at the event.</p><p>Pineda&#x27;s sister posted about the &quot;prom date&quot; on Twitter. Three members have since departed.</p><p>The group is known for its songs &quot;Ko Ko Bop&quot; and &quot;Love Shot.&quot;</p><p>Last year, EXO visited Manila twice. First in April as part of their <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/04/29/18/recap-exo-brings-fans-to-paradise-in-manila-concert">&quot;Elyxion&quot; tour</a> and then in October for &quot;<a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/life/10/29/18/concert-recap-k-pop-stars-make-fans-swoon-at-show-champion">Show Champion</a>.&quot;</p>
