MANILA -- Netflix on Wednesday rolled out new tools to give parents more control over what their kids watch, including the ability to block specific shows.

The updates, which were based on user feedback, came as most people are required to stay at home because of the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Netflix gave ABS-CBN News and other members of the media a glimpse of the new features in a video conference early this week.

With the updated tools, parents can now check their children's viewing history on their "kids" profile, filter out titles that are not appropriate for their age based on country ratings, turn off the auto-play feature, and block individual shows or films by title.

They can also prevent their children from crossing over to their accounts by adding a password.
