<p>MANILA -- Bicycle helmets come in different models for different activities. </p><p>Sharon Salvacion from extreme sports brand Fox Racing took time out to show different protective headgear and for what mountain bike discipline each one was targeted for. </p><p>“Fox Racing Products are purpose-built to ensure safety and comfort of riders.There are specific technologies placed in each product to allow that riders to experience their best ride ever,” Salvacion said.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/04/14/1.jpg"/><figcaption>This helmet is ideal for urban rides. <em>Jeeves de Veyra</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>For urban rides and urban freestyle, she recommends the Fox Transition helmet. It’s patterned after the popular nutshell design which features full protection for the head. It is lighter than the Transition helmet because of the vents that let air through and cool the rider’s head. This type of helmet is recommended for relatively flat and tame cross-country trails.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/04/14/3.jpg"/><figcaption>This helmet is targeted at enduro riders. <em>Jeeves de Veyra</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>For enduro riders, the Fox Pro Frame helmet provides adequate protection for more extreme terrain while still being light enough to climb with. This helmet’s feature is the light rigid front end that protects the rider’s chin and jaw. </p><p>“The lightweight design and big bores lessen the load and keep the rider cool when attacking uphill rides,” Salvacion explained.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/04/14/4.jpg"/><figcaption>This helmet is for downhill riders. <em>Jeeves de Veyra</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>For downhill riders whose regular rides see them speeding down sides of mountains, the Fox Rampage Comp provides extreme protection for the most extreme riders. </p><p>“The Rampage helmets require less of the breathability feature but more impact protection for that steep descents of downhill riders,” Salvacion said.</p><p>Resembling a motorcycle helmet, the Rampage Comp provides full protection with more foam inside that will absorb the most violent of impacts.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/04/14/5.jpg"/><figcaption>Fox Racing recently launched the Fox Flux 2.0 <em>Jeeves de Veyra</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>This year, the Fox Flux 2.0 was introduced featuring the newest features Fox Racing had to offer. The straps have magnetic snaps that make one-handed locking possible secured by its 300-degree retention system. The inside of the helmet is silver-lined to guard against germs and bacteria. </p><p>An internal cage that provides additional structural strength is built in to the Varizorb multi-density EPS liner spreads the force of any impact across a wider impact. </p><p>Even with all of this tech, the helmet is light and airy with test riders saying that it feels like they’re not wearing anything. While it does not have front chin and jaw protection, it can be used for the enduro and the toughest cross country trails.</p>
