Its scientific name is Tabebuia rosea and is considered the national tree of El Salvador, according to horticulturist and plant enthusiast Luis Antonio Villanueva.</p><p>The pale pink color of the rosy trumpet tree shares a resemblance with Japan’s cherry blossoms. </p><p>Its color is perfect with the blue sky, making it great for photos.</p><p>Biker Tom Jagodilla is fond of looking at the flowers every day while he does his morning routine.</p><p>&quot;Malaking bagay &#x27;yun sa mga nagba-bike o nagwa-walking kasi nakaka-inspire sa mga tao,&quot; he said.</p><p>While some plants wilt during the dry season, the rosy trumpet tree blooms. </p><p>According to Engr. Al Fruto, assistant regional director of Department of Public Works and Highways Region 6, the rosy trumpet tree was recommended by a private consultancy firm because it could withstand intense heat and limited water supply once it reaches maturity.</p><p>The DPWH 6 appeals to the public to refrain from removing leaves, flowers, or branches of the trees. </p><p>If they want to take something home, taking of photos is safer to capture the beauty of the tree, which provides a calm and cool escape this dry season.</p>
