Summer 2019: Halo-halo gets a new twist at this dessert cafe

Town Center to celebrate the classic Pinoy treat. </p><p>Yelo Yelo, which in Filipino translates to &quot;ice ice,&quot; takes on the halo-halo and gives it new twists. </p><p>The classic version boasts of the familiar ingredients like sweetened banana, mongo beans, coconut and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream. But its signature style is in the crushed ice that is sweetened with flavored milk. To complete the dessert, it is garnished with a beautiful and tasty dried pineapple. </p><p>There are other halo-halo iterations to try like the trendy Mango Float, the Choco Pop for chocolate lovers, and the cheesy blend of savory and sweet goodness, Say Keso. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/life/04/22/20190422-halo-halo-2-thumb.jpg"/><figcaption>Halo-halo and other Pinoy desserts at Yelo Yelo. <em>Photo provided by author</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>Interestingly, Yelo-Yelo also re-imagined the iconic refreshment and married it with other Filipino delicacies like the Maja Blanca (coconut pudding), Saba con Mais (banana and corn), and Buco Pandan. </p><p>For pairing options, visitors can take a bite on their turon in equally fascinating flavors: banana langka, suman mangga, muscovado cheese and dynamite cheese.</p>
