Francis Libiran's new bridal collection is social media-ready

It&#x27;s a quick way to immortalize a once-in-a-lifetime event, after all. That&#x27;s why designers like Francis Libiran are creating pieces ready for that square box on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Social media has somehow changed the way designers design.“We try to make it detailed on the top because a lot of photos of the bride only covers the area from the head to the waistline. You have to consider those things especially right now with social media, a lot of brides would always want to be photographed,” Libiran explained during the recent launch of his new bridal collection held at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City. Even his own social media accounts are heavily curated highlighting the best details of his designs. “Every time I post, I make sure I would post a detail of the wedding gown. It really gives interest to the viewers, through social media. Handout</figcaption></figure></div>Libiran, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary in the industry this year, launched the latest collection of his Francis Libiran Bridal (FLB) line. Catering to budget-conscious women who still love a designer flare, FLB is Libiran&#x27;s ready-to-wear bridal collection. The new collection called Mon Amour has a total of 22 new gowns inspired by Romantic Era art and literature. He is also celebrating his first anniversary with husband Christian Mark Jacobs this year. His married life and his partner are also sources of inspiration for him.“As an artist, you&#x27;re inspired by a lot of things, whether from your surrounding, from your partner, so it influences me so much. Moving in with Christian, I have to balance myself from waking up early morning when he&#x27;s still asleep and I&#x27;m working,” he said. The new collection is made of classic and simple silhouettes. He used a lot of lace and appliques as details on classic white dresses. The top part of the gowns are detail-heavy, like bead work, lace, and silk bows. “You know every year, we come up with new designs to offer our future brides something different so that it&#x27;s not boring. So every year we try to level up what we&#x27;re doing, in terms of service designing and everything. Francis Libiran Bridal is dedicated to brides who are budget-conscious because it&#x27;s already set design for them to pick. Every time a bride comes in they would try different silhouettes. In terms of decision making it&#x27;s easier for them to visualize it,” Libiran said. “We want something that&#x27;s timeless. I would always tell my brides that you want to be pictured in 20 years from now, you&#x27;ll still appreciate it. Especially for FLB, it&#x27;s more like retail and ready-to-wear and I have to think of the general Filipina, what they like compared to couture that&#x27;s one-on-one,” he said.But FLB gowns are still customizable especially when it comes to personal measurements and small details. Because at the end of the day, the bride still has her own vision of the gown. Whether for FLB or couture, Libiran helps his bride feel comfortable and beautiful. “To me as a designer, I would just work on their vision. That&#x27;s why when I always talk to the bride, what&#x27;s their inspiration and then I work around it. Because there&#x27;s nothing better than carrying the right attitude in your wedding gown,” Libiran shared.
