MANILA -- If you follow Kris Aquino on social media or have watched her TV shows before, you should know that she adores makeup. In fact, the veteran host and actress has acknowledged that next to shoes, she is crazy about cosmetic products.

Thus, it was just fitting that Aquino has decided to have her own makeup line.

This vision materialized after Aquino partnered with local makeup giant Ever Bilena, which recently launched the first of several releases from their collaboration.

“I love the fact that I get to work with the second generation because she gets it,” Aquino said of Denice Sy, daughter of the founder of Ever Bilena.

“She knows that for a product to work, the person it’s named after or named for has to really be super involved. I am so appreciative that they trusted me this much.”

After only six months of negotiations, Aquino proudly showed off the first two products that are part of the “Kris’ Life Kit.”

The first one is matte lipsticks that come in five shades. However, only two colors have been released so far -- “Love” and “Life.”

The other three shades -- named “Laugh,” “Lucky,” and “Loyal” -- will be available within the year.

“I really insisted that, ‘May I be the one to name them?’ I feel that I write well and I know how to put things into words so nag-insist ako,” she narrated. “Sabi ko akin na 'yung word na ‘love.’ And I think since ako naman yata 'yung nagpauso ng ‘kilay is life,’ so hiningi ko na din yung ‘life.’”

Unlike other lippies, Aquino explained that these have a comfortable matte finish but with a moisturizing balmy texture.

The other product that has already been launched is the dual-ended brow featuring a retractable liner and a mascara. It likewise comes in two colors -- Beyond Brown and Happy Taupe.

Aquino promised that more products will come out soon as she sees a "long-term relationship" with the makeup company.

“We have already established a relationship in just close to six months. I know gaano kalaki ang in-invest nila. It’s not a joke. For a company to believe in me and invest millions in a vision I had, matters a lot. I am only an endorser but I am also a stakeholder in this. It is really a long-term relationship,” she said.

“I have said this so many times. A person who feels appreciated will always go the extra mile or in this, go the distance with a company because you know it’s a long-term commitment,” she added.

With this new collaboration, Aquino believes that every woman could look good without overspending on makeup.
