<p>MANILA -- The sequel to Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive The Last of Us is set for global release on Friday, June 19.</p><p>The Last of Us was a much lauded technical, gameplay, and storytelling masterpiece that was released at the end of the previous console generation. The developers definitely pushed the PlayStation 3 to its limits and the game was so successful that a remake of the game together with its Left Behind DLC was rereleased for the PlayStation 4.</p><p>The previous game told the story of Joel and Ellie and their journey through post-pandemic America. Critics praised the setting, the brutal combat, and its bleak storytelling. This time, Ellie is the main protagonist. Not much is known about the story but it seems that Ellie will be traversing the American Northwest tangling with human factions and the monsters infected by the Cordyceps Brain Infection in the game.</p><p>Early reviews have been very positive giving the game perfect marks continuing Naughty Dog’s glowing track record of storytelling and gameplay. Neil Druckmann, the game’s creative director, has said that this is the most ambitious project the studio has ever done with much larger environments the player can explore.</p><p>The Last Of Us 2 will be available in several editions starting from the Standard Blu Ray Edition (P2,999), a Special Edition (P4,399), a Collector’s Edition (P10,599, and the Ellie Edition (P13,899). Each edition has freebies including art books, soundtracks, and even a 12-inch Ellie statue and a backpack for the more high-end editions.</p><p>Besides the game, a special The Last Of Us 2 Playstation Pro 4 bundle that comes with includes a PS4 Pro system with 1TB HDD featuring a fully customized matte finish engraved with Ellie’s tattoo design, a limited edition Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller, and the Blu-ray disc version. </p><p>The Last Of Us 2 is now available exclusively on the Playstation 4 for digital download via the Playstation Store and at your favorite games retailer.</p>
