MANILA – Costumes made by popular Filipino designer Francis Libiran will be featured in the Philippine production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Monty Python’s Spamalot.”

Libiran created five gowns for the character of Lady of the Lake to be alternately played by Rachel Alejandro and Carla Guevara-Laforteza.

“The Lady of the Lake needs to have a kind of otherworldly quality. Francis captures that quality in every single one of his creations,” the musical's producer and director Joel Trinidad said in a statement.

His co-director Nicky Triviño agreed. “The dresses are amazing. They look like they were made of magic,” she said.

“Spamalot” tells a crazy version of the story of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. It is based on the film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” which is considered one of the funniest comedies of all time.

The Philippine run of the musical will run on all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 28 to August 12 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at RCBC Plaza in Makati.

Tickets are available at TicketWorld and are priced from P1,000 to P2,000 each.
