MANILA -- Fish & Co, The Bistro Group’s family seafood restaurant, recently launched its new look along with new additions to its menu.

Originally a family chain from Singapore, Fish & Co now has branches in 10 countries, including the Philippines, where it has restaurants at the SM Mall of Asia, TriNoma, Uptown Mall, and Venice Grand Canal Mall.

The restaurant's new look and dishes are patterned after the ones in Singapore.

“We wanted to sync and pattern the look after the restaurants in Singapore. The look used to be full of nautical whites, yellows, and blues. We’d like to think of the new look as contemporary nautical,” explained Fish & Co marketing officer Anna Sadang.

Where the old design felt enclosed, the new interiors are open and airy. Nautical symbols and a compass rose are used in murals painted over bare concrete.

Along with the fresh interiors, nine dishes were added to the menu earlier this year. Here's a sample of what’s new on the menu:

This Singapore-inspired version of Fish & Co’s signature Fish and Chips ditches the malt vinegar for salted egg slices and sauce. Photo by author

The peri-peri sauce that’s paired with the white fish is slightly more sour than spicy that goes well with the crips atchara-like vegetables on the side. Photo by author

It’s not just about fish and seafood: Singapore Chicken is a recipe straight from the mother franchise’s menu. Fried chicken, Hainenese ginger sauce, and chicken rice is a great dish for non-seafood eating guests. Photo by author

New on the dessert menu is the Fruit Tart with a side of ice cream. Photo by author

Fish & Co’s reinvention is just one of the things that’s keeping The Bistro Group busy this year. Watch out for the revival of an old favorite and the introduction of a major international seafood chain towards the end of the year.
