MANILA -- The mobile application version of the beloved children's TV show "Batibot" is now available for iOS users.

The interactive app, which was previously launched for Android users, features fun educational games that teach kids basic learning concepts like matching, sorting and grouping.

The app also helps children practice writing and helps them identify shapes, colors, numbers and letter sounds.

The app also allows children to sing along to Batibot songs through the "Awiting Batibot" features, while the "Kuwentong Batibot" feature contains local stories that teaches good values.

The Batibot app is the only app in the Filipino language that is aligned with the kindergarten curriculum of the Department of Education.

The app was created through the collaboration of Smart Communications, Community of Learners Foundation and OrangeFix.

According to Smart public affairs head Mon Isberto, the Batibot app fulfills the need for an educational app that promotes Filipino language.

"When you search for educational content online, you'll find that most of them are in English. There is a need for digital learning content that promotes Filipino language as well as Filipino values. The Batibot app addresses that need," Isberto said.

The Batibot app is included in tablets donated by Smart to public schools in remote communities.
