According to The Philippine Star, he was suffering from hypertension.</p><p>(READ: <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/07/14/16/isabelle-dazas-father-passes-away"><strong>Isabelle Daza&#x27;s father passes away</strong></a>)</p><p>Mr. Daza was not just another celebrity father, as many people – especially the younger generation – would think.</p><p>For one, he was known as a gourmand and a food entrepreneur, following in the footsteps of his mother, culinary icon <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/09/13/13/culinary-icon-nora-daza-dies-84">Nora Daza</a>, who passed away in 2013.</p><p>His siblings are also part of the country’s culinary scene – Sandy Daza is a TV host, food columnist and restaurateur; Nina is the editor-in-chief of Appetite Magazine; Mariles is a cookbook author; and Stella is a chef.</p><p>Aside from food, Bong also dabbled in politics as councilor of Makati City.</p><p>He was formerly married to Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, who is Isabelle’s mother. They eventually separated.</p>

Bong was not just another celebrity father, as many people – especially the younger generation – would think.
