Masaya ako dahil ako ang napili na gumawa ng tela na gagamitin ng dating pangulo sa kanyang libing&quot;, Gamayo expressed.</p><p>Pure white seven and a half yards with ruffles on its sides and has floral designs, the &#x27;abel iluko&#x27; made by Gamayo is expected to be used for the late Marcos&#x27; blanket and pillowcase. Ilocanos traditionally cover a dead body with a blanket in a coffin before it is buried.</p><p>READ: <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/08/12/16/marcos-to-get-military-honors-army" target="_blank">Marcos to get military honors – Army</a></p><p>According to Gamayo, the hand-woven cloth was made in two weeks with the help of her granddaughter Jonalyn Gampong, who is also grateful to be a part of the historical burial of their late kababayan.</p><p>The elder Gamayo, a resident of Barangay Lumbaan-Bicbica in Pinili, Ilocos Norte, is a 2012 Manlilikha ng Bayan or National Living Treasures Awardee of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for her skills in textile weaving.</p><p>The award is the highest recognition given to traditional artisans, craftsmen, and folk artists who have displayed exemplary skills in artistry and devotion to their crafts.</p>
