Man will try to survive secluded Palawan beach

MANILA - Palawan will be featured in an upcoming episode of "Marooned," a Discovery Channel documentary television series starring adventurer and survival expert Ed Stafford.

The British explorer will go into isolation for around 10 days and attempt to survive the "secluded beach of Coron," according to a synopsis for the episode, which will air on August 30. "The seashore is covered in litter, potentially useful for survival but a depressing reminder of the state of our seas."

It continued: "Ed hasn’t been abandoned on an island since his ordeals on 'Naked and Marooned' and when he gets seriously ill, he starts to struggle with ghosts from the past."

"Lying on his sick bed of palm leaves, Ed realizes that if he doesn’t push himself to find water and food quickly this survival mission is over. But hemmed in by towering granite cliffs he’s concerned there may be no water to be found."

"Marooned," now on its second season, will also feature Norway and Argentina's Patagonia. Aside from her expertise in survival skills, Stafford is also known for becoming the first man to walk the length of the Amazon in an incredible 860-day feat.
