Ana Hospital.Kuwento ng doktor sa ABS-CBN News, kuha ang larawan nitong Setyembre 3 bitbit ang munting regalo ng mga frontliners sa pasyente sa kabila ng kinakaharap na karamdaman. “Sobrang pagod na sila physically sa work and psychologically because of daily direct exposure sa COVID. But in spite of that, they still find time and effort to make their patients smile. Sobrang na-touch ako,” aniya. Kasama ang mga kapwa frontliners na sina Arvin Buenaseda, Jacqueline Diestro, Ronmark Manuel, Scarlet Arriza, at JP Arguiluz, hiling nina Nurse Janine Jewell Alano na iparamdam sa pasyente na kahit malayo siya ngayon sa kanyang pamilya ay marami ang nagmamahal at nagdarasal sa kanyang paggaling. “We make sure po na ma-feel niya na family niya din po kami na maaasahan, lalo na po sa kundisyon na po ngayon,” aniya. “Kinantahan po namin ang patient ng happy birthday dala-dala po ‘yung balloons and pinadalang cake po ng kinausap namin na kamag-anak. Nagulat po si patient and masaya, nag-thumbs up din po siya samin to let us know po na happy po siya. Hinawakan din po niya kamay po namin to say thank you po.”Ayon sa doktor, ito ang paraan nila upang maipagdiwang pa rin ang espesyal na araw ng pasyente kahit hindi nito kapiling ang mahal sa buhay dahil sa health protocols sa mga ospital. “Since his family cannot be with him to celebrate his birthday, these nurses stayed even extending beyond their duty hours to be his family celebrating his day. Nursing with a heart indeed,” kuwento ni Larang sa ABS-CBN News.“We daily saw patients&#x27; struggles so a little thing like this would hopefully somehow give them hope and strength to conquer the infection,” dagdag pa niya. Laking gulat nila na nag-viral ito sa social media at anila’y nakaka-boost ng morale sa mga frontliners tulad nila para harapin ang mga hamon sa gitna ng pandemya. “Honestly, I was not expecting that. Na-overwhelm ako. Pero I’m glad na madaming na-inspire at naka-appreciate, lalo na sa mga nurses natin. It somehow boosts their morale and gives them encouragement to continue serving in spite of the circumstances ngayon,” ani Larang.Dagdag pa ng doktor, sa dami ng mga pumapanaw dahil sa pandemya ay mahalagang maging masaya sa bawat araw na ginugugol natin sa mundo. “Every day na nakikita ko ang daily tally ng [Department of Health] about sa numbers ng infected, positivity rate, and deaths, nakaka-frustrate, nakakatakot,” saad ng doktor. “That why I came to realize that, Being alive today and having a chance to celebrate another year is already a blessing,” dagdag pa niya. Hiling ni Larang na ingatan ng publiko at frontliners ang kanilang kalusugan at magtulungan sa pagharap sa pandemya. “To my fellow healthcare workers: We are tired and daily we struggle, too, but let’s all hold on to the hope that we can overcome this pandemic soon. Don’t let your guard down and keep yourselves safe and protected always,” aniya. “To the public: Please help your so-called &#x27;modern heroes&#x27; in this battle. Please follow the health protocols, wear your masks, [practice] social distancing [and] hand washing, and get vaccinated.
