MANILA – You don’t have to go all the way to Paris, France just to get a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower – well, sort of.

The Eiffel Tower staircase is currently on exhibit at the sunken garden of Greenbelt 3 mall in Makati City.

The staircase used to be part of the iconic French monument. It measures 5 meters tall and 1.7 meters in diameter, and weighs 1.7 tons.

“Ayala Malls is elated to be the chosen partner of Janat Paris for such a historic event,” said Joseph Reyes, Ayala Malls assistant vice president and area head of central and south malls.

The Eiffel Tower staircase was brought to Manila through a partnership between Ayala Malls and the renowned Parisian teahouse Janat Paris.

The latter’s owner, Janat Dores, “shares a unique history” with Gustave Eiffel, the engineer and designer behind the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower staircase will be available for viewing until January 15, 2018.
