MANILA -- Here are some of the events, shows, and activities you can check out this weekend.

1. SAM SMITH THE THRILL OF IT ALL

When: October 5
Where: Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City

Sam Smith fans, rejoice! The singer-songwriter returns to Manila this year as part of his “The Thrill of It All” world tour.

Smith last held a concert in Manila in 2015. He is known for releasing hit songs such as “Lay Me Down,” “La La La,” and “Money on My Mind.”

2. DAY6 'YOUTH' IN MANILA

When: October 6
Where: New Frontier Theater, Cubao, Quezon City

South Korean boy band DAY6 is bringing its first world tour to Manila -- its first ever concert in the Philippines.

The five-member band debuted in 2015 and is known for songs like “Congratulations” and “Shoot Me.” The band's current line-up consists of Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon.

3. ANG PAG-UUSIG

When: October 5-28
Where: Tanghalang Huseng Batute, Cultural Center of the Philippines

For its second offering of the season, Tanghalang Pilipino brings back its acclaimed production of "Ang Pag-uusig," a Filipino translation of "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller.

Winner of six Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards, including Best Translation and Outstanding Play, "Ang Pag-uusig" is a "timely play depicts a community ruled by a controlling, self-righteous elite, and the crucial choices each of its members must make in a time of crisis – in this case, the Salem Witch Trials in America in 1692."

4. CARMEN AND OTHER DANCES

When: October 5-7
Where: Main Theater, Cultural Center of the Philippines

No other Philippine dance company has the breadth and depth of Ballet Philippines’ repertoire and resounding influence on the arts.

The second in a series of retrospectives, "Carmen and Other Dances" presents the iconic works that defined dance in the Philippines in the 1990s and 2000s.

5. NEOFILIPINO 2018

When: October 6-7
Where: Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino, Cultural Center of the Philippines

For this year’s NeoFilipino series, the CCP brings into the spotlight the strength, creativity, and courage of women who use dance to express power, athleticism, and freedom.

This all-female edition of NeoFilipino shows five contemporary dancers demonstrating their unique strength and passion amidst a patriarchal society that threatens to silence the voices of today’s Filipina.

6. USISA

When: October 5, 8 p.m.
Where: Music Museum, Greenhills, San Juan

Come and join Bullet Dumas in his very first solo concert “Usisa,” presented by Stages Sessions.

Dumas is known for his intense dynamics, creative lyrical structure and diverse chord patterns. Acclaimed in both the indie and mainstream scenes, he is considered as one of the more influential up-and-coming musicians in the country.

7. KARPOS LIVE MIX 2.2.

When: October 6
Where: Ayala Vertis Tent, Quezon City

The second show of the Karpos Live Mix series features an all-OPM lineup with local indie favorites Ben & Ben, and Clara Benin.

Ben & Ben has captured the hearts of many with songs like "Kathang Isip," "Maybe the Night," and "Leaves," while Clara Benin will surely tug heartstrings with songs like "Parallel Universe," "Tila," "Closure," and "Be My Thrill."

8. KARPOS LIVE MIX 3.1

When: October 7
Where: Ayala Vertis North Tent, Quezon City

Swedish indie rockband Royal Concept, together with local favorite, Urbandub, are set to perform for Karpos Live’s Mix 3.1 at the Ayala Vertis North Tent on Sunday.

ABS-CBN News caught up with the Royal Concept a few days before their sophomore show in Manila -- they performed in Wanderland 2014 -- to ask a few questions on their upcoming album, as well as their Asia tour.

9. COIN AND DAGNY IN MANILA

When: October 5-7
Where: Ayala Malls

COIN, a four-piece band hailing from Nashville, and Dagny, a Norwegian singer, are teaming up for a special mall tour.

They will be performing at Ayala Malls Vertis North on October 5, followed by Glorietta on October 6, and at the Alabang Town Center on October 7.

10. DJ MARKUS SCHULZ IN MANILA

When: October 5
Where: Cove Manila, Okada Manila

Every weekend, Cove flies in a wide variety of international music DJs ranging from electronic dance music (EDM) to house music to hip-hop, and more. And this week, German-American DJ and music producer Markus Schulz is all set to take centerstage.

11. 11TH ANNUAL PET BLESSING

When: October 7
Where: Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City

Eastwood City is staging its annual pet blessing celebration with the theme Hollywoof Paw Stars. at the Eastwood Mall Open Park.

Pet owners looking to have their pets blessed can come as early as 3 p.m. and take part in fun activities, which precedes the Holy Mass and pet blessing at 5 p.m., including dog yoga demonstration and pet parenting talks by Bark Central, and K9 training by the Gerald Anderson Foundation.

Highlighting this year’s most anticipated pet event is the Pet Parade, where pet owners and their furry companions are encouraged to come out in their Hollywood-inspired costumes and vie for the special awards.

Pets can enjoy free vaccines at the booth of De La Salle Araneta University, while future pet owners can find their new babies at the pet adoption booth.

Admission to the activity is free. Registration begins at 11 a.m. To join, pet owners need to present their pet’s latest vaccination papers, secure an Eastwood City Pet Pass and register for the blessing.

12. #OWN YOUR STORY

Where: Axon, Green Sun, Makati City

Chalk.ph celebrates Mental Health Month with a benefit gig in partnership with Youth For Mental Health Coalition, an organization that aims to nurture those with mental health needs and to remove the stigma about this illness.

Celebrate life through music, with local acts such as Where's Ramona?, Fern., Coeli, Oh Flamingo!, and more performing at the event. Tickets are priced at P250.

13. ELECTRO BEACH FESTIVAL VOL. 11

When: October 6
Where: Ibiza Beach Club, Mactan, Cebu

International DJ Daiki Wakabayashi returns to Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu for this year's Electro Beach Festival.

The party starts at 3 p.m. until and features music sets by other guest artists from Asia as well as performances by the Ibiza Show Team.

14. OKTOBERFEST 2018
