<p>MANILA -- Here are some of the events and shows you may want to check out this weekend. </p><div><strong>1. &#x27;Chitty Chitty Bang Bang&#x27;</strong></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/life/10/20/1.jpg"/><figcaption><em>Handout photo</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>When: October 21<br/>Where : Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila</p><p>Resorts World Manila&#x27;s latest family musical, &quot;Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,&quot; is based on the book by James Bond creator Ian Fleming.</p><p>&quot;Chitty Chitty Bang Bang&quot; was first made into a film in 1968, while the first stage production debuted in 2002. Resorts World will present its take on this well-loved British classic that has made waves in the UK, Australia, Germany, and Singapore, and let Philippine audiences enjoy it for the first time.<br/> <br/>The cast includes Gian Magdangal, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Michael Williams, Yana Laurel, and up and coming young stars Isabeli Araneta Elizalde, Zoey Alvarade, Noel Comia Jr., Albert Silos, and more.<br/> <br/>Tickets are available at the RWM Box Office and all TicketWorld outlets. </p><div><strong>2. The Exemplars: Amada and Other Dances</strong></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/life/10/20/2.jpg"/><figcaption>Candice Adea in the title role in Alice Reyes&#x27; &#x27;Amada.&#x27;<em> Jojo Mamangun</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>When: October 20 to 22<br/>Where: Main Theater, Cultural Center of the Philippines</p><p>Ballet Philippines brings back long-unseen works that established the company&#x27;s signature style and identity in &quot;The Exemplars.&quot; </p><p>It will showcase classic works such as Alice Reyes&#x27; &quot;Amada,&quot; one of the first pieces ever performed by the company and based on &quot;Summer Solstice&quot; by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin. <br/> <br/>Another featured work is &quot;Valse Fantasy,&quot; a neo-classical piece inspired by George Balanchine and especially staged for Ballet Philippines by Muñeca Aponte in 1974. <br/> <br/>Gener Caringal&#x27;s &quot;Ang Sultan&quot; is a story about star-crossed lovers, separated by the eternal clash between classes. Since its premiere in 1973, it has become one of the most performed pieces in the company&#x27;s repertoire.</p><p>Other pieces to be performed are Norman Walker&#x27;s &quot;Songs of a Wayfarer&quot; and Pauline Koner&#x27;s &quot;Concertino.&quot; </p><p>&quot;The Exemplars: Amada and Other Dances&quot; will also have a performance on October 25 at the Globe Auditorium of Maybank Theater at the BGC Arts Center. </p><div><strong>3. Canon PhotoMarathon 2017</strong></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/life/10/20/3.jpg"/><figcaption><em>Handout photo</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>When: October 21<br/>Where: SMX Convention Center, MOA Grounds, Pasay</p><p>The largest on-the-spot photography contest opens its doors to Filipinos once again. </p><p>Anybody who owns a Canon camera, whether a DSLR, mirrorless, or compact camera, are welcome to participate. The entries will be judged according to the relevance to the theme of the entries (50%), creativity in theme interpretation (30%), and the composition of photography with the use of lighting, exposure, and focus (20%).</p><p>The photographer of the winning photo will enjoy an all-expense paid trip and will represent the Philippines at the Canon PhotoMarathon grand finals in Japan in 2018.</p><p>Aside from the main photography contest, the participants will also get access to photography workshops and get their hands on the latest line-up of Canon’s imaging and printing devices.</p><div><strong>4. They can also watch a live cocktail-making competition.<br/> <br/>Pocket sessions and various activities have also been prepared by exhibitors, including much anticipated masterclass sessions by international whisky experts.</p><div><strong>5. One Fun Day: A Family Day of Festivities for All Abilities</strong></div><p>When: October 21, 8 a.m. to 12 noon<br/>Where: Cuenca Covered Court, Ayala Alabang</p><p>Alabang-based learning center Kid’s First Discovery Space is set to hold a day of exciting activities to celebrate the 10th year of its program that provides early childhood intervention for children with special needs.</p><p>It will feature special lessons on hip hop dancing, taekwondo, futsal, yoga, and circuit training. An area will also be dedicated for sand play, giant board games, kite flying, and many more.</p><p>Kid’s First hopes to send a message that all kids with various talents and capabilities can develop positively and interact harmoniously with one another. </p><p>Ticket price is at P500 for a single entry inclusive of entrance fee, snacks, and a loot bag.
