<p>CAMIGUIN - Dressed in colorful costumes and accessories, eight contingents vied for this year&#x27;s Lanzones Streetdancing Competition in the province of Camiguin in Northern Mindanao.</p><p>The presentation of each group highlighted the rich culture and tradition of the Manobo-Higaonon tribe as the early settlers of the island.</p><p>Some depicted the mythical story of Camiguin and its famous fruit called lanzones. Many believed that lanzones were blessings from the diwatas or the guardians of the forest.</p><p>The Lanzones Festival is significant to the Camiguinons as a commercial crop. </p><p>Dante Aparte, the technical committee chairman of the 2017 Lanzones Festival, said buyers from other places would come to Camiguin to buy the sweet lanzones.</p><p>Each year, the festival draws more local and foreign tourists.</p><p>&quot;I think Camiguin in general is one of the best island of the Philippines.
