MANILA -- Traveling to a new destination can be a rewarding experience, but with the long travel time, the costs and stress involved in planning a trip, it can sometimes feel like you’re not even on vacation.

For families and friends who just want to unwind and spend quality time together, staycations in the city are becoming more popular. Those who want a different kind of staycation might want to check out The Cirque Serviced Residences in Quezon City.

The Cirque is the very first serviced residence under Ortigas & Company, in partnership with hotel management specialist, Hospitality Innovators Inc. (HII), known for their stylish and modern boutique hotels such as Azumi Boutique Hotel and Parque Espana in Alabang, Exchange Regency in Ortigas and The Crosswinds in Tagaytay.

Here are five reasons you may want to consider The Cirque for your next staycation.

1. Privacy and seclusion

Got balikbayans or relatives coming over this Christmas season but don't have enough space in your house to accomodate them? The Cirque provides a good option for families who need a private and secure place to base in the city. Or maybe you just need a place for a small barkada gathering?

The Cirque has a total of 55 units with three types of set-ups: one-bedroom flat (51 sqm), one-bedroom loft (64 sqm), and two-bedroom suite (69 sqm).

Compared to traditional hotels, The Cirque offers more space, convenience and privacy. Guests can opt for short-term or long-term stays in the fully-furnished serviced apartments with their own private cooking facilities, kitchenette, refrigerator, washing machine, spacious living and sleeping areas, while having access gyms, restaurants, meeting spaces, complimentary WiFi, free parking, concierges and other hotel-like services such as cleaning services. 2. It’s pet-friendly

The Cirque has very stylish and modern interiors created in collaboration between Kibu Design Concepts and K. Benitez Interiors. But beyond the aesthetics, the design concept aims to promote the well-being of guests and their pets. The Cirque is located within a pet-friendly community. This is one of the few serviced services where guests’ pets can share the staycation experience.

Special materials were used in the rooms to enhance the harmonious setting while remaining pet-friendly. All rooms make use of Ecocarat Japanese breathing tiles, which absorb humidity and odor, and Daiken textile walls that absorb humidity and sound, so that guests can enjoy their stay with the company of pets.

The materials absorb odor that usually comes from pets and controls noise within to the room to avoid disruption to neighboring guests. You can bring your pet on your staycation. Handout photo

Within the community, you can also find the Hachi Dog Park, where you can take your dogs for a walk outdoors. Calle Industria also has a Dog Spa & Hotel which provides grooming services and sells dog and cat food and supplies and toys. There is also a dog spa nearby. Photo by author

3. You can get active

If you love biking, the main draw at The Cirque is the free access you get to The Bike Playground, the country’s first internationally designed indoor bike park, which has a world-class pump track, a 1-km long outdoor biking trail and a kid’s trail. Mountain bikes, pump track bikes and kiddie bikes are available for rent. The whole area is very bike-friendly, with a dedicated shower room and lounge for users of The Bike Playground, and lots of bike parking spaces near the restaurants.

Circulo Verde also contains a 1-kilometer running track, the parkour and free running facility Ninja Academy, a basketball court and a playground for kids, with the physical fitness center Club Gymnastica currently being constructed. The Cirque also has a swimming pool and kiddie pool as well as its own gym that checked-in guests are free to use. The Bike Playground at Circulo Verde. Photo by author

4. Ideal location

The Cirque is located inside the Circulo Verde enclave, a 10-hectare estate by Ortigas & Company that aims to make use of wide, open, green spaces and offer a mix of amenities and establishments conducive for leisure and recreation. The commercial complex Industria within the complex houses several food and service establishments, banks, commercial spaces, a laundromat and a few offices.

You can get to Circulo Verde through Calle Industria, Brgy, Bagumbayan, Quezon City, which is a 5- to 10-minute drive to major business and commercial centers in Ortigas and Eastwood City, schools, entertainment and sports facilities. Circulo Verde is accessible via EDSA, Ortigas Ave. Katipunan Ave. E. Rodriguez Ave. (C-5) and Marcos Highway. The establishments have spacious and free parking areas.
