Pia Wurtzbach confirms split with Marlon Stockinger

MANILA -- Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has confirmed that she and race car driver Marlon Stockinger have parted ways.

Wurtzbach confirmed the breakup in a statement sent to ABS-CBN News. She also cleared speculations that Stockinger and his family depended on her.

"It's true that Marlon and I are no longer together. I wish him and his family well, and out of respect for them, let me make it clear - Marlon and his family never depended on me financially. This will be my only statement on the matter. Thank you for your support," the statement read.

On Monday, entertainment website PEP.ph, reported that Wurtzbach and Stockinger have called it quits after being in an on-and-off relationship for almost 3 years.

Citing Wurtzbach’s business manager, Rikka Infantado-Fernandez, the report said that the split happened sometime in October.

The entertainment website went on to tap another source, who claimed that Stockinger’s being “jobless” is one of the reasons why Wurtzbach ended their relationship.
