Meet the plus-size model sister of Michelle Gumabao

<p>MANILA - When Filipinos think of glamorous fashion shows and those who star in them, it is probably a safe bet to say that Katrina Gumabao, the plus-size model sister of volleyball player Michelle Gumabao, is not the first person who springs to mind for most. </p><p>But later this month, Katrina, also a talent manager and a make-up artist, aims to change just that, or at least remind her countrymen that body shaming should be a thing of the past, when she walks the runway at the debut of a plus-size fashion show in Australia. </p><p>&quot;Plus-size can be defined as not fitting into the &#x27;normal&#x27; mold of clothes. It does not necessarily mean you are fat because all people have fat. It can mean you have bigger thighs, wider hips, bigger boobs,&quot; explained Katrina in an interview with <a href="http://manila.coconuts.co/2016/08/10/making-it-big-pinay-walk-runway-melbourne-fashion-week-plus" target="_blank">Coconuts Manila.</a></p><p>Armed with her dream of becoming an international model and a confidence instilled in her by close friends, she auditioned for Melbourne Fashion Week&#x27;s first plus-size category. She managed to leave a lasting impression and is now one step closer towards her goal. </p><p>&quot;My message to everyone, girl or boy, whatever size they are, is to go for it! Don&#x27;t be afraid to follow your dreams. You have a story, share it, make it count and glorify God every step of the way.
