Take for example Pia Wurtzbach, the Filipina beauty queen who turned her disappointment into the <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/v1/12/21/15/pia-wurtzbach-is-phs-third-miss-universe-winner" target="_blank">driving force</a> for her journey towards the Miss Universe crown. </p><p>On Friday, the 26-year-old Wurtzbach wrote an inspiring letter to the beauty queens who failed to win a title during the last Binibining Pilipinas 2016 pageant. She posted a photo of her with all the contestants taken during her last trip to the Philippines. </p><p>&quot;Now I know that the pageant there is over, it got me thinking, &#x27;how are the rest of the girls doing?&#x27; Because you know what, I&#x27;ve been there. I&#x27;ve stood behind the winner and went home empty handed on my second try,&quot; she wrote in the caption.</p><p>She continued: &quot;My friends were there to comfort me as I kept saying &#x27;I really tried&#x27; over and over again while crying in the parking lot of the venue. I even got criticized for that. But now that I&#x27;m seeing this photo. Girls, let me tell you this, I know the feeling of coming home and waking up in the morning realizing that there&#x27;s nothing.&quot; </p><p>&quot;No activity today, no training, nothing. You&#x27;re basically back to square one. That&#x27;s it. The pageant is over and you&#x27;ll see the winners on TV everyday. And I&#x27;m not sure if it was the same for all of you, but I was heartbroken.&quot; </p><p>&quot;It&#x27;s okay to cry, it&#x27;s okay to feel ashamed. My advice would be. Keep yourselves busy, go to your family, take a break and think. Think about your next step.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Now I mentioned this already to you before during prelims that all of this is temporary. Even my crown is temporary. But it&#x27;s what you do after that&#x27;s important. What did you learn? What is your passion now? What do you wanna pursue next? Or better yet, are you gonna try again?&quot;</p><p>&quot;Girls, congratulations on making it this far to one of the most competitive national pageants in the world. Pageants are a huge deal in the Philippines and the girls are dedicated, studying and training like athletes.&quot; </p><p>&quot;So whatever you pursue, continue to make us proud. I&#x27;ve also faced disappointments before, not just in pageants but in other aspects of my life. So that pain, use it. And that goes the same with the other girls who did not make it in their countries.
