Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA -- The EducationUSA University Fair in Makati City on Wednesday attracted around 3000 students who are eager for an opportunity to study in the United States.US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson officially opened the event, which featured over 40 US colleges and universities. Participating institutions included San Jose State University, North Dakota State University, University of Colorado, York College, and the University of Kentucky. The fair was open to all interested students and their parents, free of charge. Representatives from the participating schools were also present to answer students&#x27; questions, including inquiries about the scholarship programs they offer. According to Ambassador Carlson, this is a great opportunity for Filipino youth who wish to study in the US and learn about the wide variety of opportunities across all fifty states. <div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/26/new-us-visa-application-process-to-start-september-28-1714" id="isPasted">New US visa application process to start September 28</a></div>“The record number of institutions visiting here today is just one example of how we are raising the bar of the already strong educational collaboration between the United States and the Philippines. In the last five years, we have worked together to help establish more than 100 educational partnerships,” said Carlson. “Whether you are pursuing undergraduate or graduate opportunities, there has never been a better time to study in the United States, and the best is yet to come,” the ambassador added. Commission on Higher Education Commissioner Dr. Shirley Agrupis also encouraged the youth to grab this opportunity being offered by the U.S.&quot;It is very important because without a dream, you cannot start anywhere. Every big dream begins with baby steps, and this is one of those baby steps.
