The Wash G1 can pick up wet and dry debris in one go, replacing the conventional mop. Dyson

It's hard not to be impressed by Dyson's products as they're efficient, idiot-proof, and stylish enough to double as decor for your home. As someone who has been using a Dyson vacuum cleaner for years, I was genuinely excited about the release of the brand's first-ever dedicated wet floor cleaner in the Philippines.

As someone who has been using a Dyson vacuum cleaner for years, I was genuinely excited about the release of the brand's first-ever dedicated wet floor cleaner in the Philippines.
And as expected, it's a game-changer: the Dyson Wash G1 picks up wet and dry debris in one go, such as chunks of food and human and pet hair, saving a lot of time and effort as these normally need to be picked up manually before mopping. Designed for hard floors such as wood, stone, laminate, and tile, it can tackle even the toughest stains with ease, trumping the conventional mop and bucket.

Like the rest of Dyson's products, the Wash G1 is a breeze to set up, straight out of the box: each part just slides and clicks smoothly onto the handle, and the wet floor cleaner comes with a dock for charging and self-cleaning. There's also the option of buying an extra battery, but you likely won't need it as one is already good for a 35-minute cleaning session, covering as much as 290 square meters of space.

It comes with two color-coded tanks that also easily detach with one click. The blue tank is where you put clean water and cleaning solution (Mr. Muscle is a good choice, and was actually recommended to me by an engineer at Dyson). This flows into the head and across the microfiber rollers, with the dirty water extracted and then stored into the red tank.

The Wash G1 has three hydration modes, with the highest setting designed for stubborn stains. If you're dealing with different kinds of debris at the same time -- let's say there's oatmeal, juice, and bits of chips left on the floor after a house party -- it's best to go for max hydration.

And here's the best part: no-touch disposal. You can simply bring the tanks to the toilet to drain the water out, and put the debris tray under running water for a quick rinse (just make sure that they're all completely dry before reassembling). The Wash G1's self-cleaning mode then does the rest, flushing the rollers with clean water so it would be ready for another session.

As with many good things and most Dyson products, the Wash G1 comes at a price. At P45,900, it's probably the most expensive "mop" you'll ever buy -- but if you have the budget for it and you like fancy cleaning tech, it's well worth the investment.

Also worth noting is that the Wash G1 is not meant to replace your Dyson vacuum (or any vacuum for that matter). So if you have carpets or sofas, this new gadget won't be able to clean them for you.

Another downside is it could be heavy to lug around for some people at 4.9 kilograms, and this does not yet include the one liter of water that you'll put in the tank. This aside, the Wash G1 does its job pretty well and promises a squeaky clean floor each time, if you don't mind the extra workout.
