Are you ready for the return of "Miss Saigon" to Manila?

One of the talents to watch for in the upcoming run of the beloved musical is Kiara Dario who plays the role of Gigi, one of the bargirls in Dreamland. She follows in the footsteps of Rachelle Ann Go, who went on to become an international theater star.

Presenter GMG Productions gave the public a first look at Dario as Gigi on stage in a Facebook post on Thursday, with the young actress-singer drawing praise for nailing her role.

Dario is known to many as one-third of the P-pop group Daydream. Last year, she played the titular role in Repertory Philippines' "Snow White and the Prince."

In a previous Instagram post, she said she is honored to do her first-ever international tour, adding that "Miss Saigon" will always be special to her as it is a musical she grew up with.

"'Miss Saigon is truly the musical that champions so many Asian actors, especially Filipinos, many of whom became my teachers, directors, and legends in the local industry," she said.

The international tour of Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s "Miss Saigon" is led by Filipino-Australians Abigail Adriano as Kim and Seann Miley Moore as the Engineer.

Also part of the cast are Nigel Huckle as Chris, Sarah Morrison as Ellen, Lewis Francis as John, and Laurence Mossman as Thuy.
