Filipino stand-up comedy group The KoolPals marked its fifth year in podcasting through a fun music and comedy show on Saturday at 123 Block, Mandaluyong City.

The group is composed of GB Labrador, James Caraan, Nonong Ballinan, Ryan Rems, and Muman Reyes – who were all already known for their humor as they were part of Comedy Manila, a production house for stand-up comedians.

Thousands of their fans gathered at the event, wearing The KoolPals' t-shirt and merchandise.

Among those who performed to support and greet the group were Johnoy Danao, Tanya Markova, Dilaw, internet sensation Kween Yasmin, Eloisa Jayloni, and Lion and the Scouts.

In his performance, Danao jokingly challenged the comedy crew to guest him in an episode so he could make his own rendition of OPM group BINI's "Pantropiko".

"Sobrang lumaki talaga 'yung eksena at community namin. Hindi namin alam na ganito talaga siya lalaki," he stated. "Nag-start lang 'yung KoolPals kasi gusto namin — kumbaga ma-gather 'yung stand-up comedy fans. 'Yun lang goal namin. Hindi namin inakala na ganito lalaki."

The comedian humbly narrated how they first started live--streaming in Labrador's house back in the pandemic until they slowly transitioned into podcasting on Spotify.
