<p>A Filipino celebration is not complete without the family favorite, lechon.</p><div><span></span><span>Despite a brief pour of rain, locals celebrated the La Loma Festival on Sunday, May 19, 2024, in honor of the Feast of Nuestra Señora de Salvación de La Loma in Quezon City.</span></div><div><span></span><span>Famous for its roast pig, the La Loma Festival showcased this delicious product through its annual lechon parade, with floats adorned with colorful displays and lechon dressed up in different costumes. </span></div><div><span></span><span>After the parade, visitors were treated to the delicacy itself in a boodle fight made by the various lechon sellers in the district.</span></div><div><span></span><span>According to Barangay Paang Bundok&#x27;s captain and La Loma Lechoneros Association president William &quot;Maca&quot; Chua, the festival aims to raise the district&#x27;s profile as a tourist destination carrying the title as the lechon capital of the Philippines.</span></div><div><span></span><span>Through the festival, Chua hopes that more people, especially those from outside the country, would know the great taste of lechon and its associated dishes in the district and continue to create jobs to uplift the industry.</span></div>
