Joanna Ampil is filled with excitement as she joins the cast of "The Phantom of the Opera" in London's West End.

The Filipina theater star will play the role of soprano Carlotta Giudicelli in the musical, which will run at His Majesty's Theatre starting July 29. 

"So surreal! I can finally call this show and theatre my home for a while," Ampil said in an Instagram post.

"'The Phantom of the Opera is a huge tick off my bucket list," she added. "It's one of those songs from my generation that I've always wanted to do. Carlotta Giudicelli is a dream to sing and play!"

Ampil went on to share how long it took for her to finally be part of "The Phantom of the Opera," saying that she could not wait to work with the rest of the cast and crew.

"I auditioned for the show almost a couple of decades ago. As devastating as it was, it just wasn't the right time for me then," she recalled. "But now, I'm in the 2024-25 Phantom cast!" 

"The Phantom of the Opera," Andrew Lloyd Webber's megahit musical, is dubbed the longest-running show in Broadway history. It was adapted from Gaston Leroux's French novel of the same title. 

Aside from Ampil, other cast members of the West End run of "The Phantom of the Opera" include Dean Chisnall as The Phantom, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry, and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry, among others.
