Facebook/PhilPop </div>MANILA  – The PhilPop Himig Handog on Friday officially unveiled a billboard at the ABS-CBN compound featuring the top 12 song entries participating in this year’s songwriting festival.The songs featured on the billboard are: &quot;ATM” by Francis Contemplacion, “Buhi” by Keith John Quito, “Dili Na Lang” by Relden Campanilla, “Ghostwriter” by Kevin Yadao, “Kurba” by Alvin Serito, “Langit Lupa” by Geca Morales, “MHWG” by Rob Angeles, “Papahiram” by Rinz Ruiz, “Salamat (Nga Wala Na Ta)” by Jimmy Ricks, “Taliwala” by Maric Gavino, “Tulala” by Shantel Cyline Lapatha, and “Wag Paglaruan” by Tiara Shaye.ABS-CBN Music&#x27;s creative director Jonathan Manalo emphasized the significant contribution of PhilPop Himig Handog to Original Pilipino Music (OPM).He noted that the songs produced through this songwriting festival have become an integral part of OPM&#x27;s history, continuing to be cherished even to this day.“Maraming mga songs talaga na nagmarka na talaga sa atin na naging part ng kultura nating mga Pilipino,” he said.Manalo, who won the 2001 Himig Handog Song Fest grand prize for the song &quot;Tara Tena,&quot; expressed his honor at being part of the organizing committee and discovering a new set of talented composers through the songwriting festival.“Maraming mga bagong composers, mga batang composers na na-discover ng songwriting festivals na PhilPop at Himig Handog and being a part of it na ngayon part na ng organizing committee, nakakatuwa and I’m just so grateful na makakatulong ako to discover yung mga bagong batch naman ng songwriters ngayon ng generation na ‘to,” he said.The collaboration between PhilPop and Himig Handog will blend two distinct musical styles, resulting in a fresh collection of songs that are sure to captivate listeners.The top 12 tracks will compete for the best composition title. The first place will bag P1,000,000, the second place with P500,000, and the third place will bring home P200,000.
