MANILA — Being a reporter since the 2000s, veteran journalist Niña Corpuz shared why journalists should stick to public service as the core of their profession.

"Ako nagsimula as a reporter since the year 2000, I'm very privileged that I still get to do what I love and I feel so blessed," she said.

With her new program on Teleradyo Serbisyo titled "Nagseserbisyo Niña Corpuz" with TV anchor Migs Bustos, Corpuz helping others is embedded in a journalist's DNA.

"Ang ginagawa po namin ay hindi po talaga para sa sarili namin, ito po ay isang bokasyon. Hindi ka nandito para sumikat, hindi ka nandito para yumaman, nandito ka dahil mayroon ka talagang gustong gawin para ma-improve 'yung buhay ng kapwa maliit man o malaki," she said.

"Kahit sa isang istorya, kahit sa simpleng istorya, kung mayroon akong isang kapwa Pilipino na na-inspire o nagbago 'yung buhay niya in a positive way dahil po roon sa aming istorya, ako po ay gigising uli bukas, excited for another day. Bakit ko 'to ginagawa? Ito 'yun," she said.
