<div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fknowledgechannel%2Fvideos%2F1950167952122133%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=" width="950" height="633" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>MANILA – The Knowledge Channel’s financial literacy program &quot;Estudyantipid&quot; was officially launched on Friday at the Ernesto Rondon High School, Project 6, Quezon City.</p><p>“Estudyantipid” aims to empower students with essential financial literacy skills, which will help them make sound financial decisions to achieve financial stability at such a young age.</p><p>The show will be hosted by Kapamilya actress Sharlene San Pedro and Stanley Chi starting September 16, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 3:20 p.m.</p><p>This program is a collaboration between the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Foundation, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Education (DepEd).</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/7/30/should-you-talk-about-your-savings-with-friends-1546" id="isPasted">Should you talk about your savings with friends?</a></div><p>During the launch, Knowledge Channel Vice President Edric Calma stated that the program is a significant way to equip students to plan and make decisions for both the present and the future.</p><p>“Importante na maisip, ninyong mga kabataan ang kasalukuyan. Importante na may-alam na kayo sa pera, di lang hinahanarap. Kasi pag nasanay kayo ngayon na bata pa kayo, di na kayo mahihirapan sa buhay kasi alam niyo na magplano ng inyong kinabukasan,” he said.</p><p>Meanwhile, BPI executive director Carmina Marquez said they will be preparing “the right tools, resources, interactive videos, engaging lessons, and practical knowledge that will shape students’ understanding on money management.”</p><p>Marquez said this is part of their efforts in expanding financial education efforts across the country.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2024/2/27/why-saving-for-the-long-term-is-important-1656" id="isPasted">Why saving for the long-term is important</a></div><p>“We believe that empowering the youth to financial literacy, is one of the most important investments we can make in our nation’s future. With this initiative, we are making significant steps in bringing critical financial lesson to students, our future leaders and innovators,” she said. </p><p>“We are excited about the collaboration and the potential it holds to foster a financial-savvy generation, equipped to face challenges with utmost confidence,” she added. </p><p>Isabelle Sibayan, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Quezon City, on the other hand, emphasized how inclusive “Estudyantipid” is. </p><p>“Because you see the concepts of financial management and financial literacy is not just limited to us adults. Kahit wala pa kayong sahod, kahit wala pa kayong trabahao, sakop po kayo ng konseptong ito,” she said. </p>
