Anna Cerezo, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA -- Belle Bilasano returned to the Philippines after her successful Face of Beauty International stint in Taiwan as the first ever Filipina to bring home the crown. “I feel grateful. It is a historic event for Filipinos to get the first ever Face of Beauty. I am very very happy…It was really life changing in a way,” Bilasano told ABS-CBN in an interview upon arrival in NAIA in Pasay City, Sunday afternoon.According to the beauty queen from Bicol, the first week of the pageant was the most challenging as she had to endure it alone.“It was really hard. My team had to prepare some things first. I had to do a lot of things alone. I had to do my prelims alone— nakaka-test ng characters. I was prepared for this. I trained to be ready for this. I think it paid off,” she recalled.Bilasano hopes to use the global platform to forward her advocacies including her campaign in increasing access to health care, as well as the need for more speech pathologists.“There really is more to life than the life I have. It is important I be part of the change,” she said.“There are only 4 universities [that offer speech pathology] There are only a handful of speech pathologists in the country. In my province I am the only one. I can’t accommodate everybody,” she added.
